Alianza Coachella Valley works to expand economic, environmental, and education justice for the Coachella Valley and the Salton Sea region of Eastern Riverside County and Imperial County through policy and systems change campaigns.
Current Campaigns & Programs
Our current Environment Justice campaign – The Campaign for Thriving Salton Sea Communities – is focused on improving the quality of life and economic opportunities for residents in the Coachella Valley and Imperial Valley. We lead a coalition of mission-aligned residents, nonprofits, researchers, and civic leaders committed to creating the conditions that make it possible to have a more vibrant and prosperous Salton Sea Region.
The Campaign for Elevating Coachella Valley Schools is an initiative by Alianza Coachella Valley in collaboration with community partners to ensure that all students in the Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) thrive in environments that are supportive, inclusive, and inspiring. This campaign focuses on supporting policies that reduce suspensions and expulsions, enhance teacher training, while also advocating for safe spaces that center student success and wellbeing.
Alianza’s Youth Organizing Council (YO-C) prepares young people to be the Eastern Coachella Valley’s future leaders by helping them put their values into words and their words into actions. Students will gain the tools, knowledge, and experience necessary to make a difference in their communities.
Alianza Coachella Valley contracts with government agencies and other organizations to provide civic & community engagement, communications, and other services to genuinely and authentically engage with our communities.
