Alianza Coachella Valley, along with our partners the Sierra Club, Desert Recreation District, Coachella Valley Parents, Líderes Campesinas, Loma Linda University, Miguel A. Vazquez (Health Equity Urban and Regional Planner for Riverside University Health System – Public Health), and Design by Paul Ruppert & Gillian Shaffer Lutsko, will be hosting an event at the North Shore Beach & Yacht Club on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. where we will be interacting with the community and demonstrating what a reimagined Salton Sea can look like.

Along with a demonstration of different components that could be a part of a proposed trail along the Salton Sea, there will be activities for the whole family such as a guided walk, Zumba, a scavenger hunt, crafts, prizes, and more! This will be the first in a series of three community events that we will be hosting at the Salton Sea in early 2024. The goal of these events is to gather community input and to demonstrate how the Salton Sea can be reimagined as a place that community can and wants to visit for recreation, environmental sustainability, and improved economic development opportunities.

The first 50 community members to join us will receive a complimentary lunch. Community members can also enter to win a raffle prize by filling out this 5-minute survey. Please only fill out the survey once per person. Raffle prizes will be given at the event.

The community is encouraged to use and follow the hashtags #SaltonSeaReimagined and #SaltonSeaReimaginado on social media.
