Alianza’s Resilient Salton Sea campaign envisions a more beautiful, healthy, thriving, and united Salton Sea region. In order to achieve this, we are advocating for a demonstration project that will begin as a trail and pedestrian bridge that will connect the North Shore community to the North Shore Beach and Yacht Club and the Salton Sea State Recreation Area. This trail has the potential to provide a better future for the region by incorporating multi-benefit elements that can include pavement, art, lighting, entrepreneurship, dust suppression, safe walking trails, broadband, shade, vegetation, and more.

To share this vision with the community, the Resilient Salton Sea campaign is hosting a Pathway to a Resilient Salton Sea event on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the North Shore Beach & Yacht Club

This FREE event is an opportunity for the community to experience what a multi-use pathway near the North Shore of the Salton Sea can look and feel like, as well as a way to gather community feedback about what would be most important to include in a proposed pathway.

We will be providing a free meal for the first 100 attendees and there will be activities for the whole family, like trail design workshops, trail walks, arts and crafts, games, raffle prizes, and more! We will also be giving away trees (Palo Verde, Mesquite, and Desert Willow) courtesy of our friends at the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Master Gardener Program and the Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District, so you won’t want to miss it.
