
MARISA ACEVES
Operations Manager
Marisa Aceves was born in Jalisco, Guadalajara but now resides in Coachella. Marisa graduated from Coachella Valley High School and attended Saint Mary’s College where she received a degree in Spanish, cross-cultural Studies, and anthropology. Marisa has a passion for social justice and providing support to her community. She is able to pursue this passion at Alianza by developing relationships with people and watching the change we want to see in our communities.
Before Marisa joined Alianza as operations manager, she pursued several opportunities working as a job coach for kids with disabilities, as a case manager at a children’s mental health clinic, and as a vocational trainer for adults. Marisa previously worked as executive secretary for Assemblymember V. Manuel Perez. She is part of a group of women that plan an annual Women Rising event that selects a local woman to honor and showcases art, food, music, speakers, and workshops. She also participates in the Nepantleras, another group designed to build women’s empowerment. She has assisted the California Endowment in organizing The Grassroots Womxn Rising convening, designed to develop a common agenda for social change, healing, self-care, networking, and building relationships. Marisa was formerly part of the Aztec dance group Danza Azteca Citlaltonac.
